While this year’s Great Candy Run Denver on November 10th will usher in many exciting changes, many long-time sponsors remain the same, including the Colorado Institute for Maternal and Fetal Health (CIMFH). A partnership between Children’s Hospital Colorado, the University of Colorado Hospital and the University of Colorado School of Medicine, CIMFH offers mothers, babies and their families comprehensive care and treatment before, during and after high-risk or routine pregnancies.
[blockquote name=””]“CIMFH is a perfect partner for this event and the Foundation, mainly because we both work really hard to ensure that parents have the best outcome possible,” said Fetal Health CEO and Founder, Lonnie Somers. “Many moms deal with a lot of uncertainty during pregnancy and we work with organizations like CIMFH to provide the best treatment possible so that parents are holding those babies after delivery.”[/blockquote]
Voted the #1 5K in all of Colorado in 2009, the Denver Race for Fetal Hope presented by the Colorado Institute for Maternal and Fetal Health is set for Sunday, November 10 at Washington Park and anticipates hosting to a crowd of more than 3,500. This year’s participants will enjoy a nostalgic event filled with on-course entertainment, cash prizes for top runners, a costume contest, and the sweetest finish ever, as well as refreshments, games, and activities at its post-race Family Festival and Expo.
All proceeds from the event benefit the Fetal Hope Foundation, a national non-profit organization serving as a liaison between families whose babies are diagnosed with an intrauterine fetal syndrome and the medical teams that provide their care. The Foundation works with Fetal Care Centers like the CIMFH in funding research and in distributing accurate information on diagnoses and treatment options in helping families save their babies’ lives.
